Ramon Barralaga- Piano, Guitar
Ramon Barralaga started his piano studies at the Escuela De Música Victoriano Lopez in 2008. A prestigious conservatory of music in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Under the tutelage of the Maestro Sachiro Nakano from Japan, who was Ramon’s inspiration to develop and important musicianship and artisanship in the piano performance. After graduation of the music conservatory in 2012, Ramon worked as piano instructor for the Escuela De Música Victoriano Lopez Music Academy. In 2015 Ramon participated in the MasterWorks Festival in South Bend Indiana where he received important masterclasses with well-known piano teachers and performers as Lori Rhoden, Eugene Alcalay, Walter Cossand and Daniel Paul Horn. In 2016 Ramon moved to the United States and decided to start his piano studies at Northwestern State University of Louisiana under the teaching of Dr. Francis Yang. Throughout his journey at NSU Ramon won several competitions, awards as the NSU Concerto Competition in 2016 which performed the Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor with the NSU Symphony and 2018 Ramon won for second time performing the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 also with the NSU Symphony. Ramon received the Honors Recital award two times in 2018 and 2019 at NSU for the best performance jury. In 2018 Ramon a honorable mention at the LMTA competition. Ramon has performed in several masterclasses in the United States for well-known artists as Angela Cheng, Jennifer Hayghe, Cori Ham, Scott Holden, Koji Atwood.
Ramon is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association and has attended several National and State conferences in Florida, Washington, Baton Rouge etc.… His interest in Piano Pedagogy had been important in his grow as piano teacher and performer.
Ramon obtained his degree in Piano Performance and Music Business in 2020 at Northwestern State University of Louisiana and He is a current graduate assistant and piano instructor at the University of Houston where he is pursuing his master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Ramon is also tutelar pianist at MEM1 Church in Texas City, Texas.
Mr. Ramon is at the studio on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
